Oranges were brought from China by the Portuguese. This is a southern Portugal traditional and one of the most delicious desserts.

Sugar – 300g
Eggs – 8
Corn starch – 40g
Oranges – 3
Butter – 60g
1. Place the zest of the three oranges in the sugar and use your fingertips to
rub well to release the oils.
2. Add the eggs, sugar and orange juice and mix until smooth.
3. Melt the butter and add the cornstarch, mixing well to make it homogeneous.
4. Add the butter mixture with the eggs, until everything is well dissolved.
5. Place on the tray and bake at 180°C for around 20 minutes or until golden.
